I leave because I need a team, yes, because I was alone after Montesa and I needed a team. The organization, the travels, the races, the sponsors they make all. It’s good for me because all I want to make is the practice and make the race, nothing more. No problem with the sponsors, no problem with the travel, no problem with the races.

When I was riding trial I race seven years, all with the team JJ. 1 year in junior with Ossa. After 2 years in Bultaco, 2 years in Ossa and 2 years in Montesa. In these six years I always drive with JJ Cobas, always. This is the team. This was my friend. In my last year with Montesa. I was finished because there was no interest for me because I get no money and there was a crisis in 1983. I then finish and come work here with my father.
The JJ Cobas Trial motorcycle is a really special bike and gets a lot of interest. How many were made?
20. They made 20. No more.

The JJ Cobas Trial machine had many revolutionary features including the enclosed front disc brake. Single shock rear suspension and a double chain system which essentially placed the front sprocket in the theoretical sweet spot and eliminated chain and engine pull on the rear suspension.
Was the bike very heavy?
Yes phew. The bike was very heavy yes
More than a Bultaco?
Yes

More than a Bultaco?
Yes
The JJ Cobas make the moto of the trial and after I drive one year with the Cobas. Maybe only half year I make some competitions
with JJ Cobas moto. The bike was no good. Very bad, because they put Cobas was an engineer of the race and he like to race fast and no like trial. He has many ideas for the race and he put these in the trial. This cause the problem. Disc brakes, aluminum
chassis, suspension with the one shock absorber with the same system from the road race bike. Many many things from the race
were put into the bike at the same time, all the same time. It was incredibly to short time for these many many changes. It’s
impossible for this all to happen. The moto was all different and other motos. Moto Bultaco standard fittings. With JJ Cobas much
ideas from the race and we had all the problem ...phew...all of the problems.
