Who was your best friend in the trial?
Each year was different ha ha Bernie Schreiber in the beginning of time days in the trial. He spend much time here in the house of my father near here. From here I go to his house and stay with him in the United States. I always practice together with Bernie when I travel. We always travel together with Bernie also .The nature of Bernie and me is similar. The system and style of driving is similar also to me. Vesterinan is another type of the riding completely. How do you mean? Oh, it’s totally different. Bernie and me was always we can make the wheel high and make the turn. Vesterinan, Soler, Karlsson, Lampkin and Andrews always have the front wheel on the ground in front. Bernie and me were the first and the best to lift the front wheel to make the tight turn. This help me a lot. Oh yes, a lot ha ha. Did you see the other riders try this and say no I cannot? Yes ha ha Did you see Lampkin, Vesterinan and those other riders try to get this perfect? Did they ever manage this? No no. They never do this turn. |

It was very nice, very nice. I ride 3 times in the Scottish and I make the first time with Ossa and I finished 7th. The second time was with Montesa and I finished 2nd. The 3rd time with Montesa I finish 1st.. Only three times I ride Scottish, no more.

Toni Gorgot won the Scottish Six days Trial in 1983 and became the first Catalan to win this Trial.
When you work for Ossa with the mar and then the yellow Ossa were you involved in the development of this yellow machine? Yes yes. Can you remember anything that you helped develop on the bike? Many things, many things i develop with this bike. I test all the parts to make this bike and make it better. I practice and test always with the prototype and change the parts and I collaborate with the engineers from the Ossa. The engineer was Mario Booras. He was a young engineer and very good. I remember this working with him and on this moto. |

What was the Ossa factory like?
The Bultaco factory for me was the best factory and also the best motorcycle. The Sherpa for me, Ossa was good but lacked direction from the boss. It was horrible. The boss was only one person. They don’t need nothing for factory. With the crisis they no put money in the company. They only want to close the factory. They have no interest in the factory to make it better and work, just to close.

Francisco Xavier Bulto or Paco for which he is better known founded Bultaco.
He is widely known to be a very charismatic leader of people. He made friends for Bultaco where ever he went and is said to have led rather than push.

Why was this?
Maybe the crisis was too big, it’s possible. It was not organized place to be Ossa. Bultaco was a good organization.
I speak to people who go to the Ossa factory and they tell me inside what it is like as there are not many photos.
What was it like in the Ossa factory?
Very dirty no, very dirty dangerous. No organization, nobody work, the worker drink the vino at the lunch as they sit in the sun. Bultaco was different. Bultaco was professional. The people are very hard workers.
I hear from everywhere that the Bultaco workers loved the brand and the racing and the company. Was this the same with Ossa?
No no. It was a different mindset.
Why was this?
I don’t know. The bosses don’t get it right.
Why did you leave Montesa and go to JJ Cobas in 1984 ?.
