Page 7- Interview with Francesc Tarres + meet Pol and Jordi's father at home.
After we spent 20 minutes or so watching Pol, we then left him working hard. His fitness was very good.
We then climbed the steps to Fransesc's front door. The glass panelled timber door opened onto a tiled floored hallway with another front door straight ahead. Fransesc told me that this was where Joan, his and Jordi's father lives. Living also in Joan's flat was Pol. It is a separate self contained flat. Fransesc told me that this was where Jordi lived also for many years with his mother and father.
The family can look out of their window and see Jordi's house.

To the left were steps leading up to the higher level where Fransesc lives with Angels his wife. Fransesc told me that Joan was out . I was really sorry to hear this. I would have loved to meet him. I followed everyone
else to the 2nd floor and
into the large open plan living area. There was a modern immaculate kitchen off
to the left handside. As I walked in there were trophy cabinets to my left and
right. They were stacked with shiny cups and plaques. A head of me was a door
leading out onto a balcony. This over looked the swimming pool below. On the
right was the living area which was very modern. High up in the ceiling were
shelved areas again full of trophies and plaques.The trophies were a mixture of
Pol’s and Fransesc’s. Fransesc can be credited with introducing his famous
brother to trials. He was no slouch himself being quite a reasonable trials
rider in his time and securing a handsome amount of trophies.

Behind me was Pol's fitness machine. I think it’s for pull ups .......Angel then made some drinks. I usually don't have time to drink as I'm talking to much. We then all sat down and the dictaphone went on so that I didn't forget anything.
Also in the room was the bearded Swiss, Fransescs neighbour who speaks perfect English. Fransesc's English is excellent and this wasn't really needed, but Fransesc felt more comfortable with him translating.
