Despite this Mecatecno being developed for Jordi Pasquet and Pasquet contributing significantly to the development , this motorcycle was finally ridden by José Manuel Alcaraz whose parents ran Zona Cero trials shop in Barcelona.
Zona Cero was the largest dealer of Mecatecno is Spain and anywhere.

It was 1997 when Jose Alcaraz rode this Mecatecno as a 17 year old turning 18. As you can see the bike was badged up for the family firm.It was important for Mecatecno to have a rider with National status riding the bike , both to test it and increase the profile.
The bike is very very interesting . I think it looks very good . Of course over the years the chassis has rusted a little ,but this is nothing.
Many parts around the factory were used to complete the prototype. Mecatecno footrests as quite distinctive. The carburetor is a Dellorto FHBG 18
The metal air box, exhaust shroud mounting points are all still present. Mecatecno used alloy swinging arms on thier adult bikes , so i am sure if production had started an alloy swinging arm would have been incorporated. The simple plastic chain gurad is also from a Mecatecno Skywalker.
The rear silencer looks very similar to that from a Skywalker and Dragonfly.
