Please lead the way Ulf
I think my special talent was that I had a feeling for the grip on the rear tyre, better than most. Nobody else was as good as me in this area. I was selected to test tyres. I test for Pirelli a lot of tyres and I was the only rider who could explain properly how one tyre felt different from another tyre, we will test different rubber compounds and different pressures and I had to give careful feedback and I was the only person who was able to do this well.
Do you collect anything?
Nooo
Yes you do?
Oh yes, it is very popular here is Sweden to collect the mopeds. The 50cc bikes. I buy old mopeds and make them like new, so I have 4 Zundap mopeds from Germany. Here is popular because you can go to a moped rally and we go there for a round trip of 60 or 70 km and stop and talk and make some coffee and hot toast and them we go. It is very popular.
Yes, I see them ride on the pavement and the road here?
Yes, here they can ride on the road and the pavement.

Are you still in touch with any of the riders from back in those days?
No, nobody. I sent a postcard to Vesterinen, but we don't speak to much no.
There are many world champions who are still in business and who use their profile to maybe sell bikes or just to reminisce about the old days in social media on the Internet. You however are a rider who just disappeared. Up here in Sweden is a long way from anywhere. Manuel Soler, Vesty and many others go to the shows and you can say hi and take photos. They still enjoy the trials scene ... but Ulf Karlson is the rust who just disappeared into this place so far from anywhere?
