25 Exclusive - A detailed career interview with the 1980 world trials  champion Ulf karlson

Yes, it's true .... and I like this. We have been to Spain to some competitions and also to the Montesa festival two times. I have also been to Madrid to ride with sotobike. Last weekend we were at a place called Luthersprig and they make there a competition in classic trial, cross, enduro and road racing. Whne there, we meet all of the Swedish motorcycle champions in one place, they were 25 of us, 25 riders it is incredible. 1 trial rider which is me and a lot of motor cross and a lot of enduro also road racing also Speedway. Sweden is very successful in motorcycle competition.
This is the poster of the Swedish motorcycle champions that was created from that meeting where they all gathered.

I have been told before I come here by certain people that you had a bit of a reputation in the bars of hotels?

Who told you  ha ha ha.

One guy in England who I have got to know a little is called Steve Monk and he used to ride a trial with you back in the 70s and when I told him I was coming to meet you he told me this.

Well of course we used to drink a lot of beer after the trial has finished and especially at the prize giving it is not like today, it has all changed. I remember one time Lampkin, Rathmell and many other riders stay in the same hotel. We eat breakfast together, we make the prize giving together, we have the dinner together, so you can see we were very good company with each other and of course we were drinking a lot of wine and beer and whatever we wanted, beer in England and wine in France, so maybe this Steve Monk is right hahaha but it was not just me it was everybody.
