The best Jordi Tarres Interview ever - page 16 - June 2012
I then follow Jordi down yet another flight of stairs to the lower basement. There is a distinct feeling that we are well below ground. The ceilings are angled. It’s very white and bright. He points to a sheet of metal leaning up against the walls and explains to me that it is titanium. I follow Jordi through the passages to a large room filled with many items. There is a baby Beta childs motorcycle. A motorcycle frame jig. There are 80’s style kit bags everywhere. There is a large plastic father Christmas and other festive items. He opens a bag and pulls out Fortuna “Team Jordi Tarres” white polo shirts. The bag is full of his Brema motorcycle gear from the first Beta days. There are many more trophies on the floor up against the wall. There are many wheel rims. There are more rooms down there, one had a childrens GasGas motorcycle in it and Jordi explains that his son does not like Trials. He did ride and try it , but its not for him.
Jordi then leads the way upwards towards daylight and he explains next time we come he will show us much more.
In a 2nd parts room there are also many many more parts. We discussed that I thought that he might have thrown these items away and im so glad that he still has everything from the past. He explains that it is very important to him and that it is his museum. He does say that some items have been thrown away, but I get the distinct feeling that not much has. Jordi is very proud of his past and has been very careful in keeping it all stored. He jokes and says that now these items are not so important but in the future maybe it will be.
