page 7 2013 The best Amos Bilbao interview
Those crash helmets are sooooooo special. Not all of them are there. Some were given away to friends .... sob sob !
Here are 2 pictures of Amos in 1991 during his first year with GasGas. He rode the first watercooled GasGas. Whilst GasGas was well known in Spain and they had been imported into the UK since 1989, they were still considered a little unusual. Amos played a huge part in establishing GasGas as a bike to be reconned with.
Andreu Codina was the World wide sales manager for GasGas at this time. He has been interviewed for www.Retrotrials.com.
These were the pre Tarres GasGas days and Codina credits Amos hugely for the massive success of the 1992 Contact range of bikes.
Note the helmets that Amos is wearing.

Amos pulls down one of his early Nava helmets. Sorry about the blur, I was shaking at being in the presence of such rare artifacts :)
I remember Amos on the 91 Duke review video having some blinding rides on this bike.

This is real Retro heaven.
1992 on the GasGas. Ducados had changed its colours to red from blue and so Amos was sporting a new crash helmet.
And now......
Amos won his first World round at Kiefersfelden in Germany wearing this helmet in June during 1992. He also won the last round at Watkins Glen, USA. This was the round that Tommi Avhala sealed the deal and won the title from Jordi Tarres.
