Pere cant recall what these building were for , but they were part of the Montesa complex.
Looking back with the Montesita factory on the left. The area where the trucks are would all be part of the factory floor.
All of that area would be part of the factory floor. You can see I'm having trouble keeping up with Pere. My poor old knees ;)
Another old Montesa building.
In 2002 the demolishers came in and literally ripped down the the factory (sacrilege) but left the front part of the building up. You can see where the roof was literally hacked through. Those demolishers should have worked carefully with a nail file and hack saw.
The design department constructed the engines and the chassis for the bikes. They had a dyno to test the engines performance and would engineer each individual part in the workshops. The castings, gearbox internals and shaft / rods were completed and made externally.
The designs of petrol tanks, mudguards were also fabricated in house. The petrol tanks were given a metal structure and then Plasticine was placed on top, each side of the tank would be given a different shape and workers would choose the shape they preferred and the colour.
The workers would also choose the names and the best one decided.
Technical designer Jordi Ros, developed from scratch amongst other things the famous 74 and 12 engine with 6 speed gearbox. This was a popular engine as riders aged 16 could use it on the road.

Were here. this is it. This is where your original Montesa was made , on the production lines running from right to left behind Pere.
The front of the factory still preserved , with their very distinctive roof.
Now the front elevation looking at the main view of the big factory with production lines behind the walls stretching away from us. Pere is standing were the Trials sections was, next to the car park. To the right is the DID department.
I hope you enjoyed that tour with Pere.
