Tell me about the trick wizard videos that you made?

I’ve made 2 trick wizard videos. They went in their thousands, Trick Wizard outsold any other Trials Video and sold well beyond my expectations, people seemed to like what I was doing with the bikes and the music, They went on Amazon as well at the time. I’m pretty pleased with number 1, but wasn't 100% with number 2, peole said to me, when you make number two can you incorporate more Road Show Stuff, so when we done that they said I wish there was more off road stuff??? sometimes you will never win. Overall, I’m happy with them. They are how I was at the time. I’m a lot different now.

Tell me about the memorabilia that you have had and still own?

I used to have Steve Saunders factory fantic 305. I’ve got a photo of this. I can’t believe I sold it. I bought it just after Steve left fantic. Roy Carey wouldn’t give it to Steve so I bought it. Steve then bought it from me but I kept the rear shock from it, which I had heard was excellent. I then let Steve have the bike. I thought Steve just wanted it to keep at the time. Steve was on a Screenart Beta at the time. I’ve also owned Steve’s black 1991 Beta. The one he rode Scotland on and used that. So Steve had the fantic back. Whilst I was up at Steve’s one time, Steve said to me “come and have a look at this”. I followed him to his shed. Just lying there on its side was the bike he won at Butser Limeworks in 1988. The cylinder head had all these little cut outs in the head. It was proper factory. The petrol had gone off in it. He put some petrol in it and started it up and phew was it quick. He had a bloke up the road that he was going to sell it to. I wish I’d bought it from him.

What are you up to now?

I’m getting involved back with my Dads fencing Company "Southern Fencing" and am thinking of getting more into the property side of things, although I am getting back to normality,
Jason Finn was also the chosen rider to test and help develop the Titanium Red GasGas . This Trials bike had a chassis entirely made of titanium and was manufactured by a cycle company who were considering moving into the Trials market.

What do you think of the Urban Freestyle

I better choose my words carefully here, whats the point on wearing a motocross helmet, doing motocross style jumps and riding a Trials Bike? I don't understand, next we will have riders wearing leathers on a Trials Bike riding super moto? I don't like the grunge scruffy look of it either, and I see a lot of youtube videos of people that have gone out, bought a bike, some long shorts, boots and a motocross helmet and riding on the roads trying to emulate what they have seen and cannot ride to save their lives. I suppose all the locations and back drops make up for the lack of ability and its taking away the great presentations that trials has become, for me how many back flips can you see before you get bored!!

What did you do with all the money you earnt?

I had a great time with it. I bought a few properties, toys and had this house specially built for me and the family. I’m set up now thanks to the motorcycle work, where I don’t have to work.

What about Now?

I’ve got a new Gas Gas and new gear. Last year there was a time when I didn't go out on a bike for 5 months!! I’m not planning on doing events. For me there is more to life than riding a bike now, for some that's everything like it was for me, but that ship has sailed and gone for good. I have my daughters and that's what I am dedicating myself too now. I'm on a new chapter in my book of Life, this chapter still involves trials bikes but not a lot. I dedicated half my life to doing this, I cannot do everything, but once  I could do something very well……so I was told, those are all but now distant memories, some good, some bad.
