PAGE 11 LLUIS GALLACH FEATURE
Gallach interview and photographs from his private collection
What do you think about trials competition now?
Before it was very good and now it is too but it is different
You have seen the motorcycles changes from the twinshock to the modern Sherco. You work with the World's trials design leader. What do you think will be the big change in the future to take the evolution foreward?
I think the clutch will change in the future, for sure and the weight will reduce
The FIM have a minimum weight of 65 kilograms, so how can this improve?
I think this may change, there is still work to be done to reduce the weight
In 10 years time, what will the modern trials bike look like?
I think maybe that the rules will change in 10 years and make more weight in the bikes. I think this will be good. I think the tyres will change to make them bad. I think this is a good thing to do and the way to follow. I hope the rules change
What do you think about the no stop championship in England?
I like no stop but it is very difficult for the observers to make decisions. I like but for them it is difficult and too complicated. It is better to change the rules of the bikes than go to no stop. I like no stop
Your motorcycle career has always involved the Catalan motorcycle industry, you more than anyone else have made an enormous contribution to helping the small motorcycle companies of Catalan present themselves on the World Stage?

Yes, I think about this, but at the time me and the riders we do not think about who works for the small companies and who works for the big companies, you make a race it is a sportive thing. I just ride the trial, it is perfect. I do not think about this then
Are you happy with the your riding time?
I am very happy with this and did everything that was possible
Lluis is a very charming and reserved man. He is not loud and brash, but quietly spoken and somewhat sensitive who chooses his words carefully. He is a very likable and popular guy whom you immediately enjoy the company of. He is a happy chap who always has a big smile on his face.
From the moment we met Lluis to the moment we parted, he was grinning ear to ear like a Cheshire cat.
