The rear silencer is alloy instead of the standard steel unit. The swinging arm is made from much thinner steel than standard.

The front forks have been reworked internally and have a much much faster and modern action and rebound than standard. The rear shock action is much faster as well.

Eddy Lejeune had 2 factory Merlins during 1988. This was the last of the two. It's very possible this was the machine we all saw at Petersfield.
I explained to Ignacio that it is difficult to get the front intake rubber that you can see in this photo and that many people have this problem. Ignacio immediately says that he will give me the telephone number of the original supplier who are still running today.
