GasGas History - Narcis Casas Interview
I'm really pleased to have managed to get an interview with Narcis Casas for Retrotrials.com. This is a really significant achievement that I'm really overjoyed with.

The interview also included a visit to the original Gas Gas shop as well as a visit to the outside of the first GasGas factory , which you will have never seen before.

With no keys i later returned to this factory to get internal photographs and unfortunately was involved in two significant unnerving incidents , one of which left me running for my life . You'll have to read on and find out how very nearly didn't make it home , twice !.
Throughout my time travelling and meeting people for this website Narcis' name has been mentioned so many times in such an endearing and respected manner. He is loved by everyone whom i've ever heard speak of him. He is described as being an absolute gentleman.

"O Rey" as our Spanish and Catalan friends call him translates to "O King" . There can be no greater title than this , which in the world of off-road motorcycle sport has been award to Narcis and his great friend 7 times World trials champion Jordi Tarres who switched teams from Beta to GasGas at the end of 1992 and who contributed so greatly to GasGas' motorcycle sales success.
My love of the brand GasGas runs deep , really deep.  I guess it's a developed interest that simply didn't exist when I was riding their Txt model back in 1998. Back then I was simply interested in their trials motorcycles and factory riders and didn't give a passing thought to the factory. All that had changed now and as time goes on in life I developed an interest , no doubt propogated by my occupation in discovering the story behind the story.  The rest is history .

Let me tell you , this interview  wasn't created simply to fill pages on this website.

It is a genuine desire to find out exactly what went on at GasGas. I want to find out the truth. I think this interview goes some way in this pursuit.

I think Narcis does a great job of explaining his early life and his success in the world motorcycling . Rather than me providing a summary and knowing that the reader will know at least the basics we will leap straight into the interview , where you will pick it all up.

This interview occurred back in April 2016.  I met Narcis and his son-in-law Cesar Cremona at Motts motorcycles distributing warehouse in  Salt Girona. The is located within a few hundred yards of the famous mirror fronted gasgas factory on Calle de Unicef. After a short meeting at the Motts warehouse we then head out to a local restaurant for lunch and to talk. Cesar came along to assist in translation, but only if required.
