Bilstain revisited 2013 page 2
The Trials park is used my a variety of different vehicles and clubs each weekend. Its a great place to hang out.
I dont know who this rider was , but he was getting tuition from 2 guys and spent a lot of time hopping on his back wheel.
And so my search began. The valley that the Trials park is based in is very long. Perhaps 3 KM and there are lots of valleys and ridges. As i walked down in the freezing cold my eyes were scanning everywhere for the step. I asked people riding their Enduro bikes where the step was but they didnt know. I asked a guy setting out a trial and he didnt know. I walked up and down the same sludgy muddy path 3 times desperately looking .
Whilst i looked there was noone to ask so i was relying completely on my memory of what the step looked like. I thought of the many photos and videos id seen. Here are some of the images.
eddy lejeune 1986 the next 3 photo are of steve saunders infamous crash in 1987
I then met a cyclo trials guy honing his skills in the freezing cold on some rocks. He was amazing to watch and everything id seen on Youtube. I asked him if he knew where the step was. Although he was only 20ish and perhaps to young to know he pointed immediately back down the track id come from telling me it was on the right hand side near to the track. Off i went , back through the mud :)
