At this time the company was small and everybody helps to do everything and we all make things. Mecatecno at this time were only making the children's bikes and the motorcycle I was riding for them was experimental only and was not in production. This bike was made, only for competition, there was definitely the plan to make this bike into production when the bike was good all of the time, we are experimenting with new parts to make a bike better.

Did you assist sometimes with the production of the children's bikes in factory ?

No no, the children's bikes were in one part of the factory and the competition area where my bike was developed was in another small area where I worked with Salvador Garcia and Gabino Renales in the 2nd year. Gabby now was a better rider than me and Salvador, he was a number 1.

I have been searching for some time for a photograph of the inside of the Mecatecno factory, do you have one ?

No no no I am sorry I think these days in Mecatecno were very busy for the workers and they only think about making things and they not think about photos, they just work work work. I remember the factory well. I'm there was one floor when you come in, on the left-hand side was the small office, I'm just passed the office on the left-hand side, there was a little area where the competition trial bikes were and I worked here. This is where Salvador, Gabby know and me work.

There were 2 production lines for motorcycles and many tools everywhere, this was a very small company for me coming from Montesa and I'm going to Mecatecno. I see the huge difference in the size of the factory and this is why I think the Mecatecno factory is so small ha ha ha.  I am at Montesa and see this huge factory where we make everything and then I go to Mecatecno and there was 2 production runs wow ha ha ha ha.

Did you get paid the same money with Mecatecno ?

No no no. I was paid more money, they also paid for all of the World Championships, I was very fine and happy with Mecatecno.
Ronald descends down a series of particularly nasty steps at the 1984 Solo Moto indoor trial.
