This all happened around the year 2000 and at this time I thought there was no way that I could go further with it really. At that point I wasn’t going to ask Sammy Miller if I could borrow his log book. I had ages ago in 1996 tried to get an age related number plate and I sent the details off to Sammy Miller but I didn't hear anything back from him for about 6 weeks.
I thought that they were a little slow so I rang them and spoke with Peter Colin who was a manager there at the time. He said that he would chase Sammy up. He came back to the phone and said that Sammy had been showing a lot of interest in this ….but didn’t say anymore.
However, he did send back to me the age related element and it showed a date of manufacture as being November 1964. As soon as the internet gave me the opportunity I went to the DVLA website and typed in 669NHO. The website advised me that the date of the registration of this vehicle was November 1964.
I did know at this stage that as part of Sammy's deal with Bultaco he was given 2 bikes by the factory and he was given £2000. I was under the impression at this time that the bike that I had was probably the sister bike so again I left it at that. I met Sammy at Telford show one year. I asked him if he remembered much about the sister bike that he had. He said that he didn’t and he asked me to send him some photographs. Well I thought that I had done that before and nothing really happened.
