5 - Dakar legend Serge Bacou

So we jumped ...or should i say crawled into Serge's little 2 seater SMART car . Serge is very happy with this car . He tells me enthusiastically that he bought it for only a few hundred euros 10 years ago and it had never let him down. Never have i heard such a loving car owner.

We arrived at Serge's workshop which is only a short distance from his house. I have to say something. I was not told that i was going to be given this tour but i was very happy to receive it. Then we arrived . Serge along with his brother had brought an an old village garage , lock stock and barrell . The owner just retired and out the place up for sale. The ramps , the dusty tools , the old solid machinery all still stand in place exactly where it has for decades.
The forecourt full of vehicles is not something that we can hold the previous owner responsible for . These are all the acquisitions of Serge.

There are 4 rooms to this old mothballed village garage. Serge aquired the workshop complete with tools and parts. Here you can see the old car panels on the wall.
