This is new. I created the inlaying in the box here. This is the process, First you need to draw a picture of the pattern that you want. Then you put it on top. Then you empty this area of wood with a special tool and then fill it again with wood of a different colour . I then polish it and finish it with fire. It’s a little bit burnt.
In England they did a lot with oak.
When did you start to restore furniture?
I started to restore furniture before I began riding trials when I was 19. Then at around around 1993 or 1994 when I finished in trials I returned to this work. I already had the basic skills. It’s a very creative job and it is quite expensive to restore things by hand but the value of this type of furniture has devalued so there’s not a great margin.

Can you find the hidden drawer here in this display cabinet ?.
Albert was refering to the hardwood rectangular cabinet, so we both looked for the secret opening. Despite prodding , pulling and ushing , we couldnt the secret drawer . I suppose with a little longer we might have found it , however we didnt and Albert showed us. The workmanship was tremendous with no gaps and sloppiness.
