Interviewee -Jordi Tarres many thanks to you for thinking of me .Let's talk about your beginnings, born in September 1966 (go we are the same fifth), so now you have 43 years in Rellinars Barcelona and I imagine that like most large trialeros started bike, (you were trialsin Europe's champion in `82). Tell us how to start your fondness for the trial.

Jordi Tarres : For all is because here in Rellinars there has always been a great fan following trial least because many years ago passed a test of the Trial World Championship. On the other hand my neighbor Pepito was Casademunt Bultaco rider and since childhood I approached his workshop to hallucinate seeing their bikes and sometimes your workouts. My older brother Francesc also practiced trial and was the one who taught me how to drive motorcycle to steal later to train!! Since my parents did not want to buy a motorcycle bike trial chose to do that was much more affordable and I was fine for introducing me, to the point that thanks to that fixed on me and thanks to Antonio Trueba could initiate me into the sport.

Interviewee-:anecdote famously bultaco poster which sees you watching Yrjo Vesterinen. Do you have that poster?

-Jordi Tarres : If Calre what I have in my museum and even a sign with an arrow to meet me in!-

Interviewee-: What did you think when you saw the riders from the 70's about running Rellinars the world championship? Did you think you could ever be where were they?

-Jordi Tarres: Rather it was a dream, just think that if motorcycles could have stood to train and that was enough to be champion was something like impossible ...

Interviewee- Don Paco Bultó called the trial "DYNAMIC BALANCE", ie moving equiñibrio but you you and the theme of movement leave it off for a "sustainable balance" ... How do you think the new way of understanding the trial of the you were the hammer, changed the way we understand this specialty?

-Jordi Tarres : Well I was maybe one more evolved that style but other drivers and start with what could be an evolution of the bike, the bike stopped moving towards all sides and seeking new ways to address the areas, that if it was not studied, it was innate.

Interviewee-: On with your beginnings. Francesc was your older brother, who saw you were going to figure, and who convinced Antonio Trueba to support you to run. What was the time?

-Jordi Tarres: As I said earlier it was he who taught me to drive and I made the first dabbled with it, being older than me, sometimes passing by Trueba store to buy parts and he always spoke to me, at the end I get out there on a Saturday and I did a show bike and he decided to help and there was the beginning of our relationship.

Interviewee- After Trueba, Pere Ollé who takes the reins of your career and fiches for Beta makes taking you to the worldwide for you to learn, right? Have about 19 years. How lived a boy of 19 years that life got in a van and touring Spain and almost everyone in it?
-Jordi Tarres : Well those were the moments that keep best memory, how awesome it was for me to go Pere hand to all sites and what I learned from him. Thanks to that I was able to be what I am in the world of trial and really were all a chain of coincidences and being in the right place at the right time!!

Interviewee- Do you miss some of the amusements of the youth of the 80's that your lifestyle or did not you regret not having done? (To see the result, the sacrifice was good)

-Jordi Tarres : Well I have found nothing at fault, because I did what I like and I was not any sacrifice for me, maybe that is the key to success. -

Interviewee- You lived alone and for the bike?

-Jordi Tarres : If if this was a difficult decision to stop working to devote to a sport that had little future and very few could be professional, but when I spend 100% all change and before long I improved so much work, both technically and physically and the results came ponto.

Interviewee-: In your first full season in the World Cup, and win your first race of the 61 you won, it's the year 1986 and stay fourth in the world ... What can you tell us memories that race?

-Jordi Tarres:As I remember it was in the Grand Prix of USA and of course as you can imagine no one expected that, not myself and more accompanied by the son of the importer Canada's beta in an almost amateurish!!was amazing to win that race and gave me a lot of confidence to do well in the future.

Interviewee- The following year win the outdoor world, you have 20 years and opens the door to do something big, but the following year stay runner. Were you convinced that recuperarías number 1?

-Jordi Tarres: I knew that would be difficult but not figured that much, I had problems with the bike during the first half of the season and solved the problem when I began to get good result but bequeath to the last race tied at all with Thierry Michaud that ultimately won the championship.

Interviewee- : How did you face the 1990 season?

-Jordi Tarres: In 1988 I lost the championship and gave me great strength for the following season but was expecting a new bike that did not come until the 3rd test, when I get the new Beta Zero managed to win all the remaining races and the first 4 of the following season 1990 a total of 14 consecutive races. was one of my best years and managed to regain the No. 1

Interviewee- At the end of the 1990 break with Pere Oller but not with Beta, what happened to it to break the union?

Jordi Tarres : As usual Pere decided a change of scenery because I was such a little burnt career, travel and days away from home, and we thought it was time to start flying solo, it was not easy to do without their support but it was a new challenge that I check to see if it was able to win no matter what happens!!

Interviewee -In 1992 is lack of interest in making Beta not get the world?

-Jordi Tarres: It is not true that Beta was not interested, what happened is that for over a year and a half we had problems with the bike and could not get find the problem with all this pressure and bad environment that season did cost me much focus and have confidence in the team and vice versa. That made it decide to make a change of scenery after 7 seasons in Beta.

Interviewee- And chips for Gas Gas ... Why them? Why closeness?

-Jordi Tarres: For various reasons, the 1st because I was motivated to try to win a motorcycle Spanish, 2nd because the bike seemed quite competitive and 3rd by proximity and understanding with the leaders of GASGAS.

Interviewee-You but achieved 7 world titles in three distinct phases, we have lost it twice and got recovered. We like the great fighters who rebel youth that lifts them out of the scene. Which of the two was more difficult you regain the 89 or 93?

-Jordi Tarres: Without any doubt the 93, I was already in the doldrums, technically and mentally I was not so strong and my rivals were much younger pro tanto had to use all my seniority and experience to get it, so if passing a little ma!!

Interviewee- You retire in 1997 after taking fifth in the world and in 1996 finishing third. What feelings did you have in those two seasons and that lead to the final withdrawal?

-Jordi Tarres: After getting so many victories and championships motivated me not compete without a chance of winning, in 96 defended the title and I could only get 3rd place and 97 was the year that I had to see if I could d emejorar obviously was not well and mid-season and make the decision that would be my last season.

Interviewee- Your last victory in Belgium in 1996 . From USA in 1986 that was your first to this, it's been 10 years and 61 wins. What can you do to balance your career in the elite world of trial?

-Jordi Tarres : Well, very good .. personally got much more than I could imagine and many times the public was demanding more, and sponsors than myself.

Interviewee-The rival "hard" ...

-Jordi Tarres:Well, I've had the first 4 opponents Thierry Michaud, Diego Bossis, tommy Ahvala and Marc Colomer, of these the first and the last have been the hardest. The first because I had a lot of experience and very strong psychologically and opposite Colomer grabbed me my the end of my career and it was hard to beat.

Interviewee- How did you approach your life after retirement?

-Jordi Tarres: Initially had intended to continue competing in Rally, but was unsuccessful and longer attached to GASGAS as sports manager and coach so we get very good hits.

Interviewee- Now you SPEA Trial team manager Tarrés. How do you see the current trial?

-Jordi Tarres: Currently this very difficult thing for several reasons, not accessible to mountain bike and that is reflected in sales of motorcycles and that makes it less budgets to go to races combined with the crisis, fatal! Anyway as many years in the industry we are still doing things.

Interviewee- What do you think of "NON-STOP" that wants to impose the FIM?

-Jordi Tarres: Eventually do non-stop, they open I'm free and good too agree to make many changes especially because I think if there really is a problem is not being able to train in the mountains.

Interviewee- A tip for a kid who starts to trial.

Jordi Tarres: Well, if you really like and see that you have a chance of becoming a good pilot must fight to get it, really worth it to get to do something you like and you can travel, and train you.

Interviewee-: Jordi?, you've been "fined" many times? -

Jordi Tarres: No, I'm not a good driver or have been in luck!

Interviewee-: What expectations do you think we have off road drivers to access bans field with the bikes?

-Jordi Tarres: Very bad, if things go well we can only go in specific areas and now there is!!

Interviewee- Have you fulfilled your childhood dreams regarding the trial?

-Jordi Tarres: I believe that if more than, I am completely happy with what I got.

Interviewee- Would you tell us that you have asked?

-Jordi Tarres: I think we talked about everything and a lot!
