The Trials engines of only Bou and Fuji are assembled in Japan by HRC. This small engineering room exists only to provide the competition team with the equipment to make small items. Oscar told me that the items they make here are far less superior to the HRC parts that come from Japan.
The competition unit exists as a seperate unit within this Honda factory. They have separate staff, bikes, spares and separate budgets. The competition department has no external windows and as you have seen has windows that look into the factory. Photos of the factory were strictly forbidden and I was carefully watched. Later in this report there is a detailed description of the 4RT production facility which I think you will find interesting.
Some HRC work on a kick start that has just arrived from Japan. The Honda Racing Company is listed as a seperate company but it is wholly owned by Honda. HRC is renowned for producing the best quality engineering available, with no apparent regard for cost. This is a a newly arrived HRC 4RT kick start with Titanium knuckle.
A look around this Honda engineering room. I dont think it is used very often. After all the bikes are already complete when they arrive from Japan. The top riders machines are assembled in Japan by HRC.
