the history of alpha trial
Here are 2 Alphas that i recently was lucky enough to acquire. I'd never even seen one before ...like buses or Policemen , 2 come along at once . Whats the chances of that ! ? :).
Here are 2 photos of the happy Alpha couple on their way to a life of leisure and pampering in camp Retrotrials.
They've arrived . Wanting to preserve all originality i dared not even wash them. Ok ...so ive got issues . I know that :) .
Both are entirely original specification and had seen very little work , as you can see.
Although this engine bears some similarities with the Villa and copy engines , when you look closely its completely different .This engine was created specifically for this bike by Alpha .
The "Alpha" engine casts along with casing shape and bolt configurations , barrel and cylinder head all go to prove this engine was a one off.
The Alpha has a very unusual under mudguard exhaust system.
The kick starts were also cast specifically for Alpha. Alpha was a very low production run.
I have no idea whether the footrests were an aftermarket addition or from the factory . Both bikes had them fitted in the same position.
These 2 Alpha were used in a trials school , spending their lives doing figures of 8 and slowly meandering up tracks ridden by office dwellers on corporate bonding days --- vomit vomit :)
She's a peach ! :). I havent even washed this bike. It is as original as i can possibly keep it - complete with Spanish red dust.
Alpha motorcycles have existed in a World on confusion for decades. If i had a penny for every time someone said to me "Yes i know ...Gallach used to ride one". Noooooooo. He didnt :) . I have to admit that at one stage i was also very confused as well , as the bikes look so similar.
Anyway after no sleep for perhaps 2 years ive worked it out .......turn the page to check out the differences for yourself.
Are they the same bike ?
