page 2 - 2015 Exclusive Jaime Subira career Interview
Drop dead gorgeous looks, top quality components, incredible performance. This bike has got it all....but its in for work.
Unfortunately a sensor for 40 euros has failed and the engine has got to come out.
There is all sorts going on in this huge first floor room.
Angel Delay from nearby in Martorelles produces some Fantic restorations, so its only natural that one of his bikes is at Jaime's place.
Angel Delay is a lifelong enthusiast of Trials who lives in the hills of Martorelles. He manufactures a wide range of after market accessories for many trial motorcycles, especially Fantic. MYTO is the range of oil developed by Mick Andrews.
This is an interesting Fantic chassis below.
Jaime led us through to the first floor office that just hasn't changed in years and years and years. This was Fantic Spain HQ from the late 80's through to the unfortunate collapse of the company in the late 1990's. And of course the office reflects this. The file boxes on the left and elsewhere hold records of all of the incoming Fantic chassis numbers and the subsequent sales to dealers around Spain. The postal scales. The seperate desks for Sales, parts and of course Jaime. It hasn't been touched. Nothing much has changed. That's whats great :).
The interview took place at the desk at the far end of this room. Jaime was behind the desk and I was facing him. This interview is unedited and is word for word what Jaime told me.
Its an interesting and revealing interview which was made easy by Jaime speaking fluent English.
Welcome - Jaime told me this room hasn't much changed since the days of Amos kicking back on a chair at the time Jaime was the Spanish Fantic importer in the 80's up until the late 90's.

Some mementos of yesteryear.
